What will we study this year?

                                            Earth from Space
In Earth Science we start at the center of the earth and work out to the edge of the universe.

We begin with geology -- the Layers of the Earth, Rocks and Minerals, Weathering, Erosion, Deposition and the Rock Cycle. We study faults and earthquakes, landslides, mudslides and volcanic eruptions. We will study the atmosphere from bottom to top, including Clouds and Weather and the Water Cycle, how the Ozone Layer protects us, how temperatures vary as you move towards space. Then we will study outer space, the planets and the stars. We will cover resource use and conservation. This year is a big year!

We will be doing many labs and hands on activities. At certain times you may be asked to bring in materials to help out with a lab.

We will focus on safety in the laboratory. All students will learn and understand safety rules and goals before being allowed to participate in labs.
